Reading at Home
If you complete any challenges, book reviews, bingo activities or are simply reading for pleasure, ask your parents to take a photo and send it the office so we can add it to the website.
Home Reading Challenge of the Week

Have a go at building your own Reading Den.  This could be inside our outside and be creative and inventive with your ideas.  Ask your parents to help building and make sure you send your pictures to the school office so we can put them on the website.

Mr Briggs' Review

I have read Shadow by Michael Morpurgo.  He is one of my favourite authors but I haven't read this book before.  I love the journey Aman goes on to get from Afghanastan to England and was espeically suprised by the relationship between Aman and his best friends Grandpa.  I would recommend this boo kto year 3 and 4.

Mr Briggs' Review

I started reading 'Street Child' because I watched Oliver at the weekend and it remainded me of the same time in history.  I was looking forward to seeing what the comparisons are and learning who the street child was.  What I was surprised about, was how many twists and turns there were right up to the last page.  I would recommend this for year 5 and 6.

Mr Briggs' Review

This week I am starting to read Iron Man by Ted Hughes. This is another book that I have always heard very good reviews about but never read it with any of my classes. The illustrations look amazing and I can't wait to start reading it.
Teacher's Book Reviews

If your stuck for something to read, have a look at what books the teachers have been reading at home.

Reading Bingo

At school, we use Reading Bingo as part of our support for reading at home.  See how many activities you can complete and you may be in with a chance of winning a place on the trip to Waterstone's book shop when school reopens.  Good Luck
