The Year 6 residential is an important occasion in your child’s life at our school. Its purpose is to develop their independence, resilience, leadership and communication skills through a range of outdoor and adventure activities and experiences, and to help prepare them for high school.
For two nights in September, the Year 6 children stay on a purpose-built campsite in the beautiful setting of How Stean Gorge in North Yorkshire. There they experience a range of activities such as abseiling, canoeing, orienteering, caving and climbing under the supervision of qualified and experienced instructors who work alongside the school staff.
Our Year 4 pupils experience an in-school residential where they camp on the school playing field and participate in various outdoor activities.
